SLCP Facility Training Webinar

On April 21st, the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) hosted a facility training webinar series targeted at apparel and footwear manufacturers. Ms. Amanda Xu, Operations Director of NEWAsia Solutions Limited and appointed SLCP ambassador and trainer was one of the guest speakers. During the training session, Ms. Amanda shared an in-depth guidance of the verification process from registering on the Gateway to sharing the verified data. The training assisted manufacturers and other stakeholders with a clarification on how to complete the verification process at ease, thereby supporting the SLCP’s mission of eliminating audit fatigue, enabling data comparison, and freeing up resources for improvement programs. The highlights of the verification process include the following aspects:

  • How to find and select a verification body 
  • Submitting assessment on Accredited Host
  • SCLP requirements of assigning an approved verification body 
  • How to support onsite verification
  • Upcoming virtual verification activities
  • Disputing/approving the verified assessment
  • Sharing the verified assessment with business relations
  • Giving feedback to improve the SLCP verification process

Over 900 participants showed remarkable engagement throughout the training and had the platform to raise questions and clarify their verification-related queries. Conclusively, the training session encouraged manufacturers to continue their resilience in limiting audit fatigue in the apparel and footwear industry, with aims to improve social and labor conditions in global supply chains.
